Arts of the Fur Trade at Fort Nisqually

Fort Nisqually Living History Museum, Point Defiance Park, 5400 N Pearl St, Tacoma

11am-4pm.   Step back in time and discover the Arts that were once a part of daily survival.  Fort visitors will experience how everyday works of art played an important part of the daily life of the mid-1800s. Re-enactors and artisans in period clothing will demonstrate old-time skills such as spinning, silversmithing, blacksmithing, woodworking, open-fire cooking and Native Americanbasketweaving. $6 adults, $5 seniors/students, $4 children (13-17 ), $3 children (4-12).

Empty Bowls

Join the Emergency Food Network to help fill some of the "empty bowls" in Pierce County. Volunteers throughout the arts community and emergency food system, local students, local restaurants and many more caring individuals work together each year to make this event a success. Come and pick out one bowl - or ten, and then join us for a bowl of soup served by some of the best chefs in town.

17th Annual Turkey Trot 5k & 2 Mile, and Kid's Trot

Lakewood Playhouse "Oliver!"

Nothing works on the stage like a well-crafted tale, and OLIVER! is just such a show. Based on the Dickens novel, it will engage your audience with its pathos and drama, while delighting everyone with its outstanding musical numbers. "Food", "Glorious Food", "I'd Do Anything", "Where is Love?", "Consider Yourself", "As Long As He Needs Me", "Who Will Buy" and "Reviewing the Situation" are musical theatre classics. Dickens' characters are brought to life-perhaps larger than life-with all their facets glowing in this production.
